One day, whilst sitting in his kitchen where he has most of his best ideas, our owner Chris decided that he would like to open a burger restaurant with a difference…
…a restaurant that would make everything by hand, using only the freshest & finest ingredients in the land.
Chris, together with his two brothers, found the perfect location for their first family-run restaurant at Brindleyplace, in his home town of Birmingham, & so handmade burger Co. was born.
The people of Birmingham soon fell in love with our range of delicious handmade & pressed burgers. handmade burger Co. at Brindleyplace grew and so did the business as the second restaurant at Touchwood - Solihull, opened in 2007. But it didn’t stop there, with restaurants in Highcross - Leicester, Meadowhall - Sheffield & Union Square - Aberdeen opening soon after. A little time passed & more restaurants opened in Gateshead, Glasgow, Hull, Sheffield, Lincoln & Edinburgh, spreading the handmade burger Co. message far & wide. 2011 finished with a return to Birmingham & the opening of our 13th restaurant in the famous Bullring Shopping Centre. 2012 also saw the opening of our first restaurant in Wakefield & Reading – we’re always looking for new locations to spread the handmade burger Co. message!
And as all good stories go, this is one where everyone lives happy ever after. We’re continuing to open restaurants across the UK, standing by Chris’s original idea.
